Weed Control in Landscaping Beds

Weed control in flower, shrub and plant beds is one of the most time-consuming tasks that we do. The key to having a clean weed-free landscape area is consistent pre-emergent and post-emergent applications, along with consistent mulching of the beds. The pre-emergent "pops" the weed seeds before they germinate. The post-emergent kills the weeds that are actively growing.

Weed control in beds can be complicated and technical due to the balance of the different plants. Plants can actually be hurt by the weed control process, if it is done incorrectly. Weeds can produce up to 150 seeds, depending on the variety of the plant. So it is extremely important to do your pre-emergent applications to eliminate all of these seeds. Mulching is a helpful process for eliminating the sunlight from the weed seeds themselves.
